What makes a great Comic Book Movie?

I am vastly confused as to what makes a great comic book movie. It makes no sense to me at all. One of the rules though for recently successful superhero movies seems to be weak willed women with the exception of Iron Man. Every other successful superhero movie that has sold well and everyone LOVES has had weak idiotic women. Almost all of them have had horrible treatment of women and they've sucked. It should be noted at this point that I cannot make it through Incredible Hulk since it was insanely boring and didn't go anywhere for hours.

The next thing seems to be the balance between the original and the movie. It would appear that there would need to be a connection of some sort, but the balance? It's impossible to figure out. Catwoman and Elektra are great examples of completely ignoring the original (well not completely, but not really that much like their comic counterparts). On the opposite end, Spider-Man acts NOTHING like his comic counterpart and seems to only superficial similarities. Same thing with the X-Men. So why is Catwoman and Elektra NOT OK, but X-Men and Spider-Man ARE ok? What is the correct balance? Then we look at movies like Fantastic Four or Daredevil which are very similar to the original source material (Hell, DareDevil has just about everything exactly the same as Man Without Fear except being overzealous) and yet those are CRAPPY movies?

Can someone explain that to me? I just don't get it. How can ANYONE watch those X-Men movies that have absolutely nothing to do with the X-Men in any way except their names and that is OK, but Elektra which has the SAME PROBLEM, is a failure? What is the balance? Is it because Elektra is about a strong woman? Where X-Men has weak and stupid women (Even Mystique, a major villain in her own right and a sexy woman is turned into a porcupine following Magneto's orders)? I just don't understand it. Now I'm not saying Elektra was a great movie. It was a HORRIBLE Elektra movie because it had nothing to do with Elektra except the name.. (It was however a decent Ninja flick) But then the X-Men movie is guilty of the SAME THING and it's one of the best Superhero movies of all time? What the hell?
